This is the break down on what states use the death penalty and are also how many they perform. This also shows you the number of different ways they have preformed to kill the criminal.

As you can see the numbers have gone down in the use of the death penalty. The more recent numbers show that it is back on a rise.

These numbers have dropped due to the states not wanting to hold the trail for the death penalty and a lot of times it is just easier for the government to put them in jail for life so there is not so much hype or coverage on the story.

For or Against?

This is a very controversial subject. With the average of deaths for crimes are decreasing there is a lot of reasons that the death penalty should be increasingly used instead of jail time. For example, the family and friends of the crime that was put against would have closer and would not want revenge on the person. There are also reasons why it should not be used. The death penalty is very expensive and the criminal is getting of easy by just dieing and not suffering. What is your opinion on the Death Penalty?
